About the Role
Bauer Media Audio Ireland is looking for part-time Broadcast Journalists to join our award-winning News department.
What you will do
- Compile and present news bulletins in a relaxed, easygoing style
- Chase news stories
- Write clear concise news scripts for on-air and online
- Attend press conferences, markings, etc, and conduct interviews
- Script, edit, and voice up creative news packages for Network News
- Work off diary creating original journalism, informing audiences about something new; something arresting; something that grabs their attention
- You'll need a passion for news and for telling stories in a compelling and engaging way
If the following traits sound like you, you might be the right person to join our freelance panel:
- You have a nose for a story and the ability to identify the strongest news line
- You have the ability to write clear concise news copy under pressure of tight deadlines
- You are a team player but also enjoy working independently
- You have a flexible attitude and understand the nature of news is often working weekends and unsocial hours
- You have a thorough working knowledge of the news cycle
- You are an excellent proofreader

- You have 1 years of experience as a news reader, in a busy news environment
- You have a working knowledge of the laws of libel and defamation
